Lord, I tend to forget you are always present as my day passes. Yet, you do show yourself, if I only stop to listen, and open the eyes of my soul to greet you.
Let not the daily concerns of passing things let me overlook your gentle touch. When I see and hear a beautiful part of your creation: the joyful song of a bird; the colors of the sunset; the light of the moon–you are there.
A kind word from one of my children; a handmade gift from a grandchild; a phone call out of the blue; a thank you, a hug—I should not overlook—these are gifts of joy from you, too.
You might even make yourself known to me by a quiet feeling in my spirit. Thank you, Lord, for your presence, your gifts of joy, and for loving me, no matter what.
